Tastes of Thamesmead is a community cookbook from the rich and diverse food heritage that lives, and has lived, in this unique part of South East London. From when it was built in 1968, Thamesmead residents have seen many changes in its architecture and in its community and this is reflected in the food stories and recipes collected as part of the book. Thasmesmead has a very specific architecture. When it was first built as social housing project in the late 60´s it was utopian and futuristic. It was described as “The Town of Tomorrow”.
Overall concept by Hannah Ringham and Floro Azqueta. Thank you both for making me participate in the project with the design of this book : )
