Hi! My name is Jorge Elósegui Astrain (San Sebastián, 1981).
I studied business by inertia and indecision, but from the day I finished university I focused on design, which was what I really liked. Since 2005 I´ve been working as a designer, first in fashion, then as a freelancer founding Estudio Primo in 2013. Although I´m the visible face of the studio, work teams change depending on the needs of the project; which is why we can tackle both small and large commissions.
I work mainly as a graphic designer and art director, although I have also developed numerous projects related to product and space design. Side projects are also important to me as a way of exploring ideas and escape out of the inevitable routine of everyday life to follow new creative paths. I don't like specialization, I prefer to keep an open mind and try different things to stay motivated and excited as a designer. I believe in a holistic vision of design when approaching new challenges.
It's essential for me to work on projects that I believe in and to have a good personal relationship with my clients, who often end up becoming friends. I put personal motivation and quality of the project over factors such as budget, size or diffusion.
I also believe in the function of design as a tool for change, seeking better consumption and production practices in society. All the decisions we make can help build a better place in which to live and work together.
Prove you are not a robot.
