	A year ago, Bolaji Teniola contacted me asking me to participate in the Reflections of Home exhibition as part of Melbourne Design Week 2024. I've previously designed other objects that showcase the pure and simple beauty of an egg, but I wanted to continue exploring this path and created this new piece, which, unlike the previous ones, is designed to hang vertically. As Bruno Munari said, "The egg has a perfect shape, even if it's laid from the ass."

	As it happened with the hanging mobile in the 2019 edition of Dock of the Bay festival, this year the starting point was the idea of movement as a way of representing music in a visual and poetic way. I have always wanted to talk about the relationship between music and image through the festival’s graphic identity. Couldn’t the image of a kite in movement be a possible representation of different melodies? Kites are beautiful and evocative. Everyone knows what a kite is but its movement and the trajectories it takes are often unpredictable. The wind that makes the kite move could be the score and its movement could be the music itself.

	Following with this idea, what music do you imagine when you see a kite flying? If you manage to keep it still for a few seconds I can imagine the ambient compositions of Brian Eno; if on the other hand the kite escapes your control and follows the currents of a strong and unstable wind I imagine a drum solo by Max Roach. The music we imagine will change if it is a blue and sunny day or, on the contrary, if it is a cloudy day with dark clouds on the horizon. The kite only exists in the sky; the music exists if there is someone to listen to it.

	I was lucky enough to design "Gran Sol", the new book edited by Eneka Fernández. We are also very happy because the book has been selected for the Best Photography Book of the Year Award by PhotoEspaña the “Self-published” category.

	Kokékokó is an espadrille store run by our friends Blanca and Jon in San Sebastián, my hometown. In the spring of 2019 I was asked to create some kind of “installation” on one of the walls of the store. Like Bruno Munari (quoted at the beginning of the publication), I have always been interested in the subject of the human face and the infinite possibilities that exist to represent it. Therefore, I decided to decorate the store with some faces and dive into the subject. We asked the craftsmen who produce the espadrilles for discs made in the same way and with the same material (jute) used for the soles.

	I took some photos of both the process and the resulting characters (although some were sold or given away and I was unable to photograph them) and a few months later I thought of releasing this material as a souvenir and record of the work.

	I have always been attracted to those large corrugated plastic pipes that you can see on construction sites. Typically, workers cut them, fill them with concrete and use as a base to place temporary traffic signs.&#38;nbsp;


The shape and size of these pieces is beautiful and it occurred to me to design a stool system with that shape. In a residency in Boisbuchet I spent a week building a plaster mold starting from the pipe itself. It was a nice process but the result was not what we expected. The density of the concrete mix was not adequate and the shape of the pipe was not well replicated.

	On my return to San Sebastian I decided to make these pieces in clay, which was my original idea. I went to the ceramist Idoia Grijalbo and we decided to make the pieces in turned clay. I made some rulers with the corrugated profiles that helped Idoia to make the pieces in a uniform and proportionate way.
